 What are MBR membrane bioreactor and where these are     needed? MBR membrane bioreactor stands for Membrane Bioreactor. It is a wastewater treatment technology that combines biological processes with membrane filtration. In a traditional wastewater treatment plant, biological processes, such as activated sludge, break down organic matter and remove contaminants from the water. However, a  membrane module is integrated into the process in an MBR system. The MBR membrane bioreactor process involves the following steps: 1.
